A documentary film about Slovak Romany people who came to the Czech lands after the year 1945, when almost whole the etnic group was extincted by holocaust, searching for the work, new life and new Romany history.
After 1945 came to Czech towns thousands of Slovak Romany to find work in construction and heavy industry. The stories of these people today are not much known to the public, more in the context of talking about the problems with the Romany in socially excluded localities. That is precisely what many of these locations carry significant footprint of a postwar industrial development in the Czech Rupublic. This project wants to recall stories of Romany workers from ill-known boroughs of the cities Ostrava and Brno.
The documentary film captures the memories of Romany workers
through still living witnesses. Life stories are monitored and obtained by offspring themselves. The document also observe the background of the project and its internal development.
